Micromobility & PEV

Solowheel, InMotion, EUCO

As a long time proponent of personal electric vehicles and urban living, nothing has struck a deeper passion for me than the invention of the electric unicycle in ~2014 by Shane Chen of Inventist Inc. My professional journey started as a customer that quickly led to working with a local Seattle Solowheel distributor to open the very first electric unicycle shop and training center. Eventually, as other manufacturers entered the game I was fortunate enough to get to know some of the executives of InMotion who asked me to help cofound a California-based marketing and distributorship center in San Diego where I led a small team for sales, service, and marketing InMotion / Solowheel products.

Collabs

TPain’s School Of Business (TV)

InMotion USA CEO, Rose Wang, and I setup an agreement to appear on an episode of the second season of T-Pain’s School Of Business where we got a chance to make the case for small and protable PEVs as a potential for a car-free lifestyle. My personal highlight was attempting to teach T-Pain how to ride both Hovershoes and the Solowheel… unsuccessfully! To my credit, we had a very short window of opportunity.

Braille Skateboarding

Braille being one of the largest skateboarding channels on YouTube at the time, this oppportunity was a huge visibility win for electric unicycles and by far the most viral piece of long format content that existed in this stage of the industry.

For this collaboration, I was confident enough in my riding skills to personally make the trip to San Francisco to appear on camera for Braille’s “game of SKATE” - think HORSE for basketball.

BW Webb

When we heard BW was looking into various PEVs during his time in NYC as the Giant’s cornerback, I knew I couldn’t pass up the chance to teach a pro how to ride! As one might expect- he was a quick learn.

Product Launch

V10 Electric Unicycle

InMotion’s V10 is the successor to the popular V8 model, and it served as their competitive offering for the higher end segment for users who desire more speed, range, and power. To showcase how this modern and sleek design can also deliver impressive performance, I decided go with a cinematic style trailer set in various iconic LA locations featuring one of the most talented riders I knew.

EUCO Electric Unicycle Collective

Tasked with launching a new brand and marketplace offering multiple manufacturer’s products, I wanted to a cultivate a community oriented platform that highlights the unique lifetyles of our customers. The name “EUCO” is beneficial to a new brand in this space as “EUC” is common shorthand for electric unicycles, and I designed the logo to reference the general shape of an EUC when you isolate the letters “C” and “O”. Additionally, this visual reference also doubles as the emblem and icon form of the logo when turned on its side.
